I had that very same problem. It happened right out of the blue truck started to run like it was starving for fuel. Replaced filters,plugs, and all the usual stuff then took it to a mechanic who replaced the same stuff even after I told what I had done. He said it was blown up so I sold it for scrap price to a friend who promptly put in a rebuilt computer and the truck runs fine. 1990 year 150.
