I would try it on the bench. Apply 12v to both the plug in wires, then spin it with a drill and test for power on the large insulated lug on the back.
I wired a Mitsubishi alternator on my 65. It was much smaller than the 10si. It also had a properly sized pivot bolt. It wired identical to the Delco. I placed a 1 watt diode on the small wire to prevent backfeed. It works perfectly. The internal fan is a plus as I did not need to gring the upper slotted mount to get it to fit. The delcos work great and are cheap, but I had an inside line on this one.
