most electric guages measure in milliamps/millivolts,resistors are dropping resistors used for matching voltages to guage faces,or max readings. In other words, say you had a temp guage that read 0-100,and another one that read 0-200. by changing resistors i could use the same movement in both, and just change face on guage.Odd that the no's on wires change from page to page on your wiring diagram.are you positive on this?not saying it cant happen, but I personally wouldnt trust any of your diagram if this were the case. Its been a long time since I messed with one but I seem to recall the guages on those old trucks ran at something like 2 volts and had a dropping resistor in the circuit some where that fed them all also,if so dont forget it or you may burn up all your hard found guages.also this resistor had a habit of opening up and all the electric guages would quit at once, while mechanical ones still would work.also remember that if you change from say 6v to 12v you will have to adjust this resistor accordingly.good luck!
