Bill, bo is an idiot, you gave excellent advise. Last count I had 15 M1 Garands, at least one from each manufacture. Also a few M1 Carbines and O3 and O3A3s. I have 4 Krags, 2 sporters and a rifle and a carbine. The Krag rifle is by far the most accurate. As it is not a "service rifle" banned from Camp Perry in 1905,I have to shoot CMP/NRA Highpower in the Match Rifle class. I do OK. Same with my trap door 45-70s, but I do not do so well in Match class. But I get to shoot. Save for perhaps the M1 Carbine I would not pick as a first choice any of these rifles for self defense, on the other hand none will let me down if I need them. I heard, from my uncle, a Korea vet, that the M3 Grease Gun is the best SMG the world has ever produced. Do you have any experience with it?
