5' - 6' PTO snowblowers are easy to buy for $500 in the summer. Not so cheap mid-winter when there's snow around.
I bought a Deere model 240 (6 foot wide) for $500 during the summer. I saw several in the local classifieds this week in the $750 - $1500 price ranges. Typical for winter prices after a lot of snow.
