Actually a granite ship would float given enough surface area.I guess by your logic, steel ships cant float either, they are obviously heavy (some have even been known to carry granite slabs!!!). Maybe you think the Egyptians pushed their limestone blocks down the Nile from the quarries to the delta when it froze over?
