What are you calling entitlement spending?
The USA is going to spend 1 trillion dollars on defense spending in the fiscal year 2011. That is 15 percent of the total budget. That does not count the wars in AFGHANISTAN and IRAQ. Total defense spending this year will approach 20 percent of the total USA budget when you include the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. I do not think that "pales in comparison" to entitlement spending.
