I remember my Dad talking with a JD dealer in Ingham County who is now long retired. He told him that the Big Boys from Waterloo had told him they only wanted to deal with no more than 5 entities per state. Didn't care if each "dealership" had 10 stores, just wanted to deal with only 5 business entities.
