We"re on our way back from AZ, NM, two week trip. In Hutchinson, KS yesterday, schools were closed due to the "calamity" (their words), also one of two museums we planned to see was closed. They had a thin covering of ice and a dusting of snow. Weather guessers warned of bitterly cold temps, highs in the 20s. In NE now, near Warp Museum, renter in central MN emailed he had 29.5 below this AM. Local school is 2 hours late. Coldest we ever had was -44 in "Jan "92. Am really tired of watching weather channel from mid and south states, with reporters going out to show what two inches of snow looks like. Guess it"s all what you"re used to. Personally, I"ll stay with the four distinct seasons in MN, not 11 months of brown in the SW.
