Where i live(100 km east of the rockys and 1000 km north of the border) we usually don't get the cold and warm cycles like you get in the south,it stay's pretty steady below -15 c all winter long and the snow just get deeper. 2 seasons only.Summer and Winter.I got a heated shop for the tractor and a garage for one vehicle. One learns to plan ahead for severe cold and does the chores in the warmest part of the day. For the rest we drink coffee and hibernate.LOL.
There are some people around who lived here all their lives,who have the tractors and vehicles outside and for them life must be h3ll.Their yards are full of ext cords,booster cables and batt chargers and then complain about the power bill.But somehow they survive too.
