I assume you mean from a ladder - I've done that, only with a cattle feeder, and it gets old long before you get it filled. The first sackful looks pretty lonesome in a big empty feeder.
I've thought about building a feed bin too. I have a trailer that I store my feed in, but it uses shed space. Used four legged metal bins sell pretty cheap if you're watching. Saw three for sale the other day for around $350 each. Don't know if I could build one that cheap.
