I have 2470 and I am very happy with the way it pulls up and down my clay hills when alittle wet.I am not fermilar with The Jd you metion so not sure of the Hp or weight of tractor.I am 100% positive the 2470 does way better on fuel as no Jd I every had the privalage of driving did good on fuel.(not saying none do)I farmed 54 acres last year and 1 tank of fuel worked it all twice half of it 4 times and seeded it all.I know this only because I didn't have enough money to buy fuel so what I had in the tank was all I could use.I pull a 26 foot IH deep tiller but have to lift out on the hills or shift down a couple a gears.
