The 2470 could have traction issues if it does not have Detroit Lockers in it's diffs. The JD has a diff lock.I'm not sure what conditions you are placing the tractor in. If it is Ice and you are clearing parking lots or something like that with a front mtd blade and can't use chains the 2470 may have an advantage with it's steering abilities. What are you wanting to do with the tractor? The two designs have distinct advantages over each other in different applications.
