The vehicle tax as I understand-is value of the vehicle-is taxed as if it was sales tax each year? now that could run into some serious money in a few years of ownership. Reminds me of a story Dad told out of Iowa when the assessor showed up to do the annual tax hoido thing-a dog was in the yard and the assessor wrote down that he had a dog Farmer replied that he did not know who's dog it is-so another assessor story. Short count is the rule of the land. In Illinois in 1970 this tax was dropped. 4000 buck is not unheard of for a low middle income house tax in Illinois.
