I ask the same question everyday, why.... well there is the far fetched consideration that one of them may sell for a decent buck, only after keeping em feed, ridden, healthy ! No it makes no darned sense at all :) more so on christmas morning when cleaning stalls :)
Hopefully you have enough hay, weather here last summer made for some good quality hay, keeps em from getting thin, but that stack sure has a dent in it now.
