Lousy neighbors.. what to do?

I just spent 4 hours doing an emergency snow clearing at the condo I live in so people wouldn't be stuck in the morning on the way to work. I have the snow removal contract and made a deal with another tenant, who only has 1 vehicle, to park the skid steer in her extra parking spot so it's there when I need it. In return I clear her snow and she's very grateful. Each pair of condo's has a garage and in between the garages there are 2 extra parking spots for 2 of the condo's. I park my little truck in the extra spot and don't use it everyday. The neighbors push snow into my stall under my truck and today piled the snow from their spot right behind my truck. It was 2 1/2 ft. tall! The boulevard is only 15 ft. away. The GF came home and the neighbor and her daughters were just finishing this pile. She told them they can't push their snow onto our side and pile it behind my truck. Then they said the snow is too much for them to move and my truck isn't driven everyday. Clearing individual parking spots is not part of my contract. I only clear the common laneway and the visitor parking lot(s). These neighbors have always been a problem for pushing snow in our stall. Sometimes after we've cleared it. Last year I offered to clean individual parking stalls for $15 per snow fall. I did it for these neighbors once after a big snowfall. They tried to offer only $10 but I said it wasn't negotiable since the condo board agreed $15 was very reasonable and I carried the snow all the way to the other end of the complex. Other tenants were happy to pay $15. When the GF told them to stop piling it behind my truck, the older lady next door said, "but he's got that machine to move the snow". The GF told her that that doesn't give them the right to block my truck in. The old lady said, "What a waste of $15"! This is the same lady that claimed my other truck made her fall on the ice when it was parked! I think I'm going to tell the property manager if it happens again, I'm going to put a "shovel full" of snow in their stall with my machine. If these neighbors were the least bit cooperative it wouldn't be so bad. We shovel a walkway on our side around my truck and they pile their snow and fill that up too because they have a planter on their side with a big inflatable snowman on it. Why can't people be like the neighbor I have at my land? I'd clear his driveway if it took 2 hours and needed it and I know he'd do the same for me. Is it just something about people in the country having more common sense? The GF works in a long term care facility and has won numerous customer service awards. She has finally had enough with these neighbors. Before I had the snow contract we actually spent a couple hours breaking up all the ice and clearing the neighbors stall for them. We did this a couple times to help them. I think they expected us to do it all the time for them. Maybe I should just give them a bill for $15 everytime they do it? It's very frustrating! Dave

Today's Featured Article - The Nuts and Bolts of Fasteners - Part 2 - by Curtis Von Fange. In our previous article we discussed capscrews, bolts, and nuts along with their relative hardness and thread sizes. In this segment we will finish up on our fasteners and then work with ways to keep them from loosening up in the field. Capscrews, bolts and nuts are not the only means of holding two parts together. When dealing with thinner metals like sheet tin, a long bolt and ... [Read Article]
