I think you have an older 9N, that C notch is where the special bolt fits to fasten the arm to spindle. The 2N has a different way of doing it. Have both but not going out in this cold to look. But the 44 2N that my Dad bought new in may of 44 has the ovel radious rod and the 41 9N has the I beam.
