Hey guys,
I was wondering what it'd take to put dual rear wheels on a pickup.
I want to do this because I found a super nice utility/service box for my pickup for REALLY CHEAP .. Problem is, the new box is 10" wider (off of a dually Ford) Than the other box I picked up with a lot of rust and good intentions to fix.. But I could scrap the rusty one and pay for this one, and have cash left.
I'm sure I could just put the box on a srw and call it a day, but to me, it would look stupid.. So, I can either dual the truck, or cut the bed and remove the "extra" 10 inches.
My theory is that with dual rear wheels I could carry a few more pounds (and maybe not wear out rear tires so fast)
Both my Fords have the long studs, like I assume you'd have to have for duals (as I am undecided which truck I'd rather put this bed onto). I know I'd have to change rear rims.. But I was told the axles on a dually are different width than a srw.. any truth to that?? (sounds like BS to me)
