and yet tier 2 engines are being built But they have to be exported to other countries. Local Deere engine distributor just shipped 300 gen sets to Argentina & Mexico with tier 2 engines. The tier 4 100 plus horsepower irrigation power units are going to roughly double in price compared to tier 3's... All of this has made the older series engines/ power units ie 4045, 276, 414, 6068 etc around here go way up in price. Buy an old wore out one and totally overhaul it and still be a third of the price of a tier 4 and have something that will stand up for another 15 to 20 years. the tier 4's wont be around that long !
