i always follow Rule #1, the customer is always right, if they come to me telling me what they want, i always double check and see if it is what they really need, and give them the option of both, and then go by rule#1 ,
i don't know why the tech would want to put 3/8 on a small/slow shute rotator, and those pipe swivels will leak in the packing over time. i try not to use them, usally it's cheaper to go with a solid end and the swivel adapter seprate, besides, the one end had a "pioneer" fitting,so it would be free while tighting it up.
