That's just what I was going to say. If you have an 8000lb. I would make or buy a mount with a receiver. Then weld a receiver socket on the trailer. That is what I have done and it works very well. Also can be mounted on the pickup, tractor or with a big clevis chained to any solid object. I have done that also. I googled winch mounts and looked at several pictures and went to the shop and made mine. If you already have the winch this would be a very cheap fix.
