About 20yrs ago my foot looked something like that but the dark color extended about 3" higher toward the ankle then slid down to the toes. Crushed all the bones in my foot that exposed the nerves inside the bone. The foot never did heal up and still looks some what like it did 20yrs ago with swelling 1/3 larger than my normal foot.
Pain pills (including morphine) didn't help with the pain. Ice water baths about drove me nuts but helped the most when I can with stand the pain from the ice water.
The best thing I ever did was NOT let them operate as it turned out I have RSD that can't be fixed from any external means. RSD= permanent nerve damage.
