Unfortunately it all depends................ I have new Firestone bias 16.9x28 on the proper rim- actual tread width about 15". Older worn Armstrong 14.9x26 on a narrow rim(12") about 14". I have an older pair of radial 15.5x38 I have been trying to match for duals and I can't find a new tire that stands as tall as these. With enough searching you can find charts with all kinds of info. on tires. However I don't think they will give you tread width. "Section width" is the term I've seen. "Loaded radius" would be working heighth. That's if you can believe manufacturers' info. Good luck!
