I know what you mean. Our oldest son now retired from the Navy after 22 years spent 3 TOD in the Gulf and off the Korean coast. He retired as a senior chief of personell. He is also a Plank Holder of the USS Cole. He was assigned to it wnen it was being built in Newport News. My wife traveled to its comissioning in Fort Jackson, and we were both given a tour of the ship while still in NPN. Our son was reasigned to the Sacromento just before the Cole was bombed in Yemmen.
