vent free,,which means whatever is in the air will be pulled in and burnt with the "combustion air" ie: hair spray ,paint fumes, cologne, you get the picture.most companies in the u.s.a. are starting to make only vented units, cause of this odor problem and the moisture situation, which is normal for propane as the majority of the burn product is water vapor,,,but here is where the problem comes in. it is a unvented "blue-flame",,which people do not want to see {blue},,,so to get the yellow flames licking up for show the burner is manufactured not to burn cleanly and as a result the higher then norm moisture by-product,,and of coarse also high reading of carbon monoxide. which is another sore subject for me,,Please do not buy cab. monox. detectors that plug into a wall plug 18 inches off the floor,,,carb.monx. is lighter then air and rises to the ceiling,,filling the room slowly from the top down, your head is in the monox. air long belore the knee high detector will ever read it !! propane((hydro-carbon detectors) are the opposite,,propane is heavier then air and fills a room from the floor up!
