Goose, I was in on some of that stuff you mentioned about and we pulled that ship right up in front of their army headquarters all sand bagged up with artillary holes in some of the buildings....and there was a big 'ol Ro-Ho rooster crowing on the steps leading to hqtrs. My thoughts were "this ought to be a dandy" cause we bought them a couple of landing craft in the well deck of our LSD....and the scuttlebut was that they were gonna attack the mainland with them.
