He didn't say anything about waiting for the check to clear. He said "cash." Big difference.

The way the scam usually works is . . . you get a certified check and bring it to your local bank. Bank will "cash" it. Later it will bounce and your bank will demand payment back ,for that check. Sometime in the middle of all this, the so-called buyer will ask for some money sent back to him. Often because he accidentally wrote the check to more then the purchase price, or some other nonsense.
Seems some people don't realize that certified checks can bounce and not always guaranteed.
