Didn't know about the Joe E Brown movie... The Earthworm/Botts stories I recall were published in SEP?? in the late 40's/50's???, and while I can't recall actually reading any of them my impression was that Botts was always doing things with the Earthworms that prospective buyers were convinced couldn't be done, but I'm open to correction. Were the 40's/50's stories a re-do of earlier ones in Joe E Brown's time period, or a second set??? I used to collect/sell old mags but I'm sure the stories I recall weren't in 20's issues...
