I have a 2007 Dodge Caliber.I bought it in December 2007 at 13000km and purchased an extended warranty. Now it gets complicated.
After a month I got a call from the Dodge dealer explaining that Chrysler Canada's computers wouldn't allow them to register the extended warranty I purchased because the original purchaser (or leaser) had purchased the deluxe version of the warranty when it was new and this warranty was still in force. They cut a cheque for the value of the warranty I bought which was applied to the loan on the car.
Everything has been going well until Saturday when the service manager tried to charge my wife for an oil change. They claim that the warranty has disappeared from thier records.Shouldn't it be a case of typing the VIN into thier computers? That's how they found the warranty in the first place.
I am going to a competing dealership tomorrow to see what they say.I bought the car from a large dealership with a good reputation but now I'm not so sure what to think.
What would you do?I suppose you could say I have had 3 years of really good service from them for free but that really isn't the point here.
