When I was a kid this time of year the dairy farmer I worked for would mow a little in the morning, then in the pm, with no tension, would bale six inch long bales. Then after I got home from school he would pick me up with his pickup with sides on it. He drove and I walked along beside with a pitch fork and pitched the bales over the side into the truck. that was the evening meal for about 80 milkers.
