Stone walls stay up for many many years over here unless cattle start on them even then it's very seldom you see any damage. Does seem starnge they dont stand with you guys, I always remember my father telling me that when he was a boy they walked the 3 miles to school along the top of the stone dykes when the roads were full of snow (then dint or dont alwys clear them that fast), the particular one he talked about was around 4 feet wide along the top. Lots and lots of stones gather off the land over the years. Where I was brought up Netherley there are lots of stone, bad news for plows when using big tractors. Bill
