i didnt see the show, but its probably true, here in the mountains there are several toyota trucks and a land cruiser from the 70's and '80's that are in amazingly rough shape, 1 i personaly know its owner, the spedometer broke at 345,000 miles and that was 2 years ago, all still run great, as long as you can fit in it [ i dont] and dont need to pull a trailer there great little rigs
