I know where you're coming from Kruse, but I gotta share this: My Dad was a skid row alcoholic until I was in the third grade. He stopped drinking, got back with Mom, got his act together and was a terrific father until the day he died. When I was a teenager, we were walking in downtown San Francisco and there was a bum on the street with his hand out. Dad gave him 10.00 and I said, "You know what he's going to do with that, don't you?" He answered "Yep, I've been there and I know how bad he needs it." Never questioned him again from that day.
