Hi mike. First of all I rarely run the combine myself but I think I can help you out. It varies of course but I cant think of any situation where we run only 3mph. Alot of the time our limiting factor is hauling grain not the combine. When the corn is standing good seems like 5mph is a good speed. Yesterday we were picking corn that was 18-19 percent and at 5mph the engine was running 2390rpms and the grain sample was perfect. You probably need to talk to someone, as there is a good chance you can pick up some productivity. What is your limiting factor? Horespower or cleaning? As far as the yield monitor, I get a young guy from our local fertilizer plant who does all of their gps stuff to come help us with problems on the it. I have them bring the weigh wagon and the tech guy to calibrate. Case dealer support here is woefully inadequate so I use this guy and he is great, very helpfull and knowledgeable.
