I have a neg ground VR-gen system on a Cockshutt 540 in which the ammeter seems fine at low rpm. But at higher rpm the needle on the ammeter wildly jumps from side to side ( maybe from -5 amps to +10 amps). I've re-polarized, checked and rechecked the grounding of the VR and still no change. Is my VR pooched? Thanks
