A company called Mico-Trac manufactures a device that measures your speed via magnets on an axle or GPS. They call the device Calc-An-Acre I believe. You program in your width. It will tell you how many acres you have covered with an implement. When you turn the device will shut off with a switch on the raising implement. On a combine you have might have to have a switch for waterways and turning. Has anyone used one of these. I have several irregular fields and I think it would help get a handle on actual acres. Even if I could know how many acres are in this corner or below this terrace, etc. Your opinions are appreciated. I believe I would buy the GPS model.
