A floor is the way to go. Like the others have said it makes removal easy with the center dump and sweep. The one option you have is to try it without a floor this year and see what happens. I can scoop with the best of them, but at age 56 I have better things to do then sweat to death in a dusty dirty environment. I have scooped out many storage areas including wooden and steel. Like was said earlier used floors are abundant. I saved 2 floors last week from a dozer at a neighbors farm. I didn't have time to save four bins and one other floor. They are buried now. Having a floor and fan gives you more options to manage your grain. I dry outside of the bin in a dryer and cool the grain in the bin. When winter sets in I further cool the grain to freezing temperatures. I put air to the corn once or twice during the winter. Then in the spring I warm the corn up. If necessary before marketing the corn can get air once or twice. I have four 18 foot seven ring bins and one 24 foot seven ring bin and each has only a one horse power fan. Takes time to move air through the corn. Can't really do drying with only a one horse power 12 inch fan. I tried it one year. You have to count on the corn being drier in the field and secondly you have to count on there being some heat in the air when you put it in the bin. Certainly can manage the corn through storage although. Good luck. You own experiences can sometimes be the best teacher for your situation.
