Many years ago when my son was about 4 or 5 I took the TD-6 I had at the time out to the field with him on my lap. I then stopped it and showed him what each lever did and then jumped off of it and let him drive it around. By doing that I sort of got a monster out of him because the only tractor he now likes are ones with tracks or steel wheels. Work the same way when I got him his first motorcycle and he now rides one of those a lot. But it is neat to start them off young and lets hope he wants to keep things going after you retire
