Local city put in 80 miles of gas line to hook up their city. They got a judge to just issue generic eminate domain for entire farms; they could plan as they built & just run the line anywhere they wanted through any of the farms. They never paid the tennents for crop damage. They never talked to any of the farmers that got lawyers, just went to court & got ok to do whatever they wanted. Payment to some of the land owners came 3-4 years after the fact, no interest.
Was very, very badly done.
Town newspaper never seemed to report on it much, if you weren't involved, you didn't hear much....
