I am building a new house close to I-29 in SE SD. We comment to ourselves that if the economy is so bad, what in the world are all those trucks going by hauling. Unbelievable the amount of truck traffic on that stretch. Just as many going north as there are south. No shortage of cars either. I called 2 of my concrete subcontractors this afternoon. They can't take anymore jobs for the next 3 weeks. Maybe we are in a good spot where the economy isn't as bad as else where but all those trucks aren't stopping in town here. Flying J is always jammed full also.

The last fling before summer fades into fall and we get busy in the fields are the annual Labor Day tractor shows. Beginning on September 5th and running through the 7th, the Argyle Antique Gas and Engine Show is held at the Argyle State Park. Located in West Central Illinois, the pine forest was the setting for the opening of the 22nd show.
