How about some people just are not meant for college? I know some folks that simply were not going to go. If we look back 50 years ago, were the numbers much different. There was high school drop out rate and a percentage of those graduates that went to college. It is somewhat unrealistic to think that everyone is going to go to college. The system just can't support it. The system may be correcting itself. Weeding out those that don't need to be there.
For those that are picking majors in college, are they looking at the job opportunities in those fields? If there isn't much opportunity and you know there is a bleak future, why are you pursuing it?
