Check the oil spec page in your operators manual, my 2000 Dakota manual gives the "perferd" weight oil and the "acceptable" wt oils. Your 97 should have the older pushrod engines where 10-30 was fine. Only thing I wonder, does your oil treatment additive thicken the oil, giving you something far thicker than 10-30 ???
