Actually Quebec contributes the least into federal coffers but receives the most. Alberta is the exact opposite because of all the oil. Trudeau's national energy program was just a way to take billions more from Alberta. If Quebec wants more, they just whine a little more to get their way. When they wanted to seperate, they still wanted the same federal money coming their way. I don't think France has much to do with Quebec. The language in Quebec isn't even proper french. It's kind of a slang version. I don't think the US is at all interested in Quebec either. Dave
