There are vast amounts of natural gas in NY. It makes economic sense to harvest it "in an intelligent manor" Foremost not jeprodising our water resources. Economically it will be a boome to our states economy and esspecially to those of us who still have to work to survive. As stated if you own land in a perspective drill site, obtain good leagal council. Where I live there are a bunch of well to do people who never got any dirt under their fingernails, who have bought up smaller farms. In their eyes we who were borne here and are strugling to still make a living as farmers, construction workers, or dependent on making a living from a small local business are destroying their view and creating stinks that detract from their million dollar summer home in the country. They oppose any development of small business to harvesting any of our natural resources for energy production. They also have the time and money to stifel any economic growth of any kind here. To the west and north of my home are comercial wind farms.They are intergrated into the farmland and have been the only thing that has kept many dairy farmers in business. The North East has an abundance of Natural Gas, Sun, Wind and Water to provide us with all the fuel and electricity we need. If we in the North East tapped these resources, we wouldn't need foreign oil, oil from the Gulf, or Natural gas piped in from the midwest.On site and local energy production with minimal interstructure makes the most sense to me. Low enviromental impact and significant reduction in carbon footprint. My wife and I are getting closer to total energy independance. Garden, wild game,wind and solar power, bio fuel heat.
