Don't feel bad,---LOL Had a Triumph Herald one time , ( Looked just like that one Lance went in the water with , but mine wasn't amphibious model) did plugs, points condenser thing... wouldn't start, checked and made sure points set correctly. still no start, ground the battery too dead.
Had a neighbor pull me a mile down the road and back, Darn still wouldn't start !! opened the hood again and on top of air cleaner was the rotor. neighbor figured if I was that dumb I didn't need it started so he went home leaving me in my driveway I was 17 at the time .I left it set all afternoon till I decided to try it again and battery came back enough and it started .
