got the clutch loose yesterday on the 254. pulled the starter but couldnt access the clutch from there (front mount) found a small bolt near the bottom of the bell housing, managed to get a long thin screwdriver up on there and got the disc to finally pop loose. hoorayy!!!! a couple zooms around slipping it and it works pretty good now. discovered the loader arms have wasp nests in them. they didnt enjoy the joyride. now i have to tackle the overheating problem. if you work the tractor hard, it overheats. battery and air cleaner are mounted right in front of the radiator. plan on relocating these and installing a larger cooling fan. radiator and blcok are clean, thermostst is good, no restricions. head has been done also. from what i gather, overheating was a common problem with this tractor. sure is a cute lil rascal tho.
