I don't think they let tourist drive into Zion anymore. I think they are using propane powered tour buses.
One Indian tribe built a grain storage facility many years ago on the side of a verticle rock cliff a few hundred feet straight up. Its located in Zion Canyon on the right as you are headed to the end.
