Appreciate your come back Tom but I still maintain that the Tractor in question has a unique type sterring that no tractor list shows one with an over the hood steering system. You are right ,the R was produced from 1935-1940 and the early ones were unstyled so to speak. 3 models were produced,R-standard tread::RC-Row crop [I've attached a picture of one] :: RO-Orchard. No where can I find a Picture of an RC with Steel wheels ,single front steel and over the hood steering.A strange animal for sure and I'm sure it has a history which would be interesting.JH
