I have a 97 ram with 318 that just turned 100,000 miles. At 55mph it carries 40lb on guage at operating temp.and about 38lbs at stop lights. I use pinzoil 10-30w and change oil & filter between 3 & 4 thousand miles. Make the dealer let you take a new truck off the lot, warm it up and see what happens.
