This was 6 years ago and the wife was very serious about it being done humanely.....But a bullet would have been way cheaper. I was very attached to the cat, but she was 8 years old and her litter box smelled so bad and the cat's health couldnt be improved due to failing kidneys. (I would have liked to go the cheap route with a shotgun) And....I had to take off work early so my son was in daycare at the time and I had to have it done while he wasnt home.
